Hi!
Mindfulness and meditation are bandied around these days so most people know something about the concepts. This is great because everyone’s mental health is a high priority, now more than ever.
It’s all well and good when we have processes, routines, strategies to “get us through” to “survive” or keep going. What happens when those routines are gone? There is no gym, or no restaurants or no grocery deliveries, no morning coffee catch ups, or no job…. It is disorienting and scary.
When we are focused on the outside making us feel safe, or happy on the inside this kind of situation is terrifying. Because all of a sudden how do we maintain our security and happiness? It seems to be disappearing at rapid speed.
It’s time to take our power back and start feeling good on the inside so we can notice and create good stuff on the outside again.
HOW?
1. Start with breathing
(long deep breaths right down into your belly. One way is to breath in for 4 counts, hold 4 and release for 4). Do it for 5 min to start with and then increase to as long as you like. Start as soon as you wake up. BEFORE everything. (Even going to the toilet!). And then when ever you feel stress. (Check out a deep breathing demo here)
2. Close your eyes and create a vision in your mind
Create a vision of who you want to be in 6 months that makes you feel amazing, excited and joyous (hang out there- lots. Keep focused on that one event when your mind wonders, just return to the vision and the feelings.) More info from Dr Joe Dispenza here.
3. Smile
Not because something on the outside triggered a smile- just smile and notice what happens in your body- Do it as often as you remember!
Love to you all x
